Strategic Advising and Coaching for Experienced Business Owners and Service Providers
As an experienced business owner or service provider, you’re confident in the work you do, the services you provide, and the results you help clients achieve. Your business has provided both a steady income and a sense of pride.
Overall, things have gone really well, and you’re grateful for what you’ve created. You’ve built a business that helps you live your personal values—whether that’s creating freedom in your schedule, doing meaningful work you enjoy, connecting with others, or something else.
But recently, you’ve been facing a unique-to-your-business challenge.
Maybe it’s related to hiring, team management, or leadership.
Maybe it’s about your business strategy and planning.
Maybe it’s a marketing problem.
Or maybe it’s something else.
Whatever the issue, you don’t want to slog through another course or join another mastermind.
You want a personalized approach that honors both your business’s specific needs and the life you’ve worked hard to create.
You want to work one-on-one with someone who has both the strategic insights and practical steps to solve the issue and also understands the importance of aligning your business decisions with what matters most to you.
I provide strategic advising and coaching for experienced business owners and service providers who need help with business strategy, people management and leadership, or marketing.
I offer clients both the expertise they need to succeed, along with personalized coaching which provides unique-to-them solutions.
We work closely together to navigate complex business challenges while also taking into account personal values, individual priorities, and unique vision.
What We Do Together
My goal is to help you solve the problems you’re facing with targeted, strategic advice plus personalized support—and also to equip you with the skills, confidence, and strategy to continue forward on your own after our work is complete.
We’ll put a sharp focus on your unique challenges and goals, while simultaneously looking at the bigger picture and making sure the decisions you make are aligned with your long-term objectives.
You know your business better than anyone, and although I have a lot of experience and expertise to share, you’ll always know what is the right move for you and your business. I’ll trust, respect, and support you and your decisions every step of the way.
Here are the issues I most commonly address with clients:
Hiring, Team Management, and Leadership
You never started your business to hire, manage, and lead people or teams, but now, it’s an inherent part of what you need to do. But you don’t have the skills or experience to do it well.
Maybe you’re hiring your first employee, managing a group of contractors, or wanting to build a team that runs the day-to-day operations of your business. Whatever the goal, you realize that it’s going to take an entirely different caliber of team, leadership, and delegation to make it happen.
Together, we’ll tackle key team challenges—like hiring (and firing, if needed), onboarding, and managing—while also strengthening your leadership skills.
Then, step by step, we’ll make the team and leadership changes needed for your business to run like you want it to and support the vision you have for yourself and what you’re creating.
Business Strategy and Planning
In general, business has been going well. You enjoyed the work you’ve been doing and your business model worked—until now.
Maybe you’ve changed, or your circumstances have, or the market has shifted. Whatever happened, one thing is clear: your business has to change. But you’re just not sure what needs to change or how to change it, and you aren’t willing to sacrifice your personal values in the process.
Whether you need to reevaluate how a single program is delivered or restructure your entire business, team, and operational plan, we’ll work together to define the best path forward for you. We’ll look closely at what’s not working and why, so we are sure to change the things that will resolve the root issue.
Together we’ll make sure that your business shifts to a place that works for you and the life you’ve worked so hard to create.
Marketing (aka, Getting Clients)
I specifically work with experienced, service-based business owners who haven’t had to put much effort into marketing before. If you’re looking for complex approaches to marketing or to understand and implement the latest trends in webinars or ads, I’m not the strategist or coach for you.
You’ve been lucky to have clients always come to you. Maybe it’s a steady stream of referrals, a strong market presence, or something else.
But what worked before isn’t working now.
You need to start marketing your services, but you aren’t sure exactly how to do it. You’re an experienced pro at business but not at marketing.
You’ve been told you need to use this platform or that one, but do you really, and how does that all work? Where do you begin? What’s worth doing (or not worth doing)?
Most importantly: How do you get back to the steady stream of clients you’re used to?
Together, we’ll refine your messaging, streamline your marketing strategy, and ensure that your efforts are aligned with the goals of your business, so you can return to the consistent flow of clients you’d grown accustomed to.
While these are the most common challenges my clients are facing, my work is customized to each client’s needs. So if you want help with something not specifically mentioned here, we still could be a fit to work together. Please reach out.
How We Work Together
All of my engagements are customized for the individual client.
Although I typically partner with clients for extended engagements due to the nature of their business and their goals, there are circumstances where shorter engagements or even a few sessions is all that’s needed.
Here is a rough outline of what could be included in a working arrangement depending on your specific needs and goals.
Initial Deep-Dive
We’ll likely begin with a targeted session that will help me come up to speed on your business, your challenges, and your goals. I want to make sure we’re on the same page before we start developing a strategy together.
Strategic Planning
After our initial deep dive, we may have a session specifically to map a plan for what we’ll do together during the duration of our engagement. You’ll know how we plan to tackle your challenges and achieve your goals and a gauge of the timeline to make it happen.
One-on-One Sessions
We’ll meet for planned one-on-one calls at a frequency that works for you, your business, and the pace at which you prefer to proceed. We’ll use these sessions to review progress on your strategic plan, respond to in-the-moment issues, and adjust the path forward as needed. I’m there to guide you through challenges, help you reflect on your decisions, and continually adapt strategies based on your evolving needs.
Support Between Sessions
Between sessions, I’m available for extra support over email or Voxer. When a quick question arises, you don’t have to put your progress on hold for our next one-on-one session. I’ll be there to help you keep moving forward at a pace that feels good to you.
Practical and Reflective Work
Between each session, you’ll know exactly what your next steps are. Sometimes you’ll leave with practical action steps; other times you’ll leave with reflective questions to consider as you implement or practice what you’re learning during our session. This work isn’t “busy work”; it’s implementation steps designed to help you move forward toward your goals.
Resources, Tools, Templates, and More
As needed, I’ll provide resources, tools, or templates that I’ve used in my business or with clients in the past. It’s also possible that we’ll create what you need as a part of our work together.
Investment
As an experienced business owner, you know that the right investment reaps a return multiple times over. That is my intention with our work together.
Each engagement, commitment, and investment is customized to the client, so rates vary. They typically begin at $2000/mo.
If you don’t feel ready for an extended engagement, please contact me, and we can discuss if just a few sessions might be enough for your needs.
Get Started
Step 1. Schedule a complimentary, no-obligation consultation. You can do that here.
Step 2. Watch your email for questions from me. Before we meet, I’d like to know a bit about you, your business, the challenges you’re facing, and what you’d like to get out of working together.
Reply to that email and answer the questions. It should only take about 10 minutes and is required before we meet.
Step 3. At the scheduled time of your consultation, we’ll talk. We’ll use the opportunity to make sure we’re the perfect fit to work together before you commit.
If we’re a fit, I’ll guide you through the next steps. If not, I’m happy to share other resources that may help you.
