Today’s post is something I’ve never done before, and I’m so excited to share it with you!
Over the past month, you have taken massive action. You’ve declared your niche; you’ve created a bite-sized offer; you’ve showed up on social media; you’ve added autoresponders to your email list; you emailed friends and family about your business; you’ve sent personal follow-ups to newsletter subscribers; and so much more.
I’m impressed and inspired by your action, your commitment, and your desire to really make your business work. Go you!
To celebrate your success, I’m going to give you a public high five right here, right now.
You Did It!
Here are just some of the amazing women in our community who went out and took action.
Laura Fast Kalister created her bite-sized offer.
Janna Denton-Howes finished her website and created her bite-sized offer.
Eileen Purdy posted her bite-sized offer. Even better, she says, “I love that feeling of, ‘Yes! Small action steps are truly empowering!’”
Leslie Logan Beale kicked ass and took names. She:
- Successfully pitched her first guest post and has gotten new subscribers immediately!
- Offered her service directly (as she says, “gut-wrenchingly directly”) to five separate people.
- Pitched a proposal to work with a local service provider as a strategic partner which could easily sustain her business for the next year!
Alma McKinley posted her bite-sized offer. Even better, she started taking small steps last December including posting an initial offer and holding a webinar. In return, she got amazing feedback and had people want to hire her and feature her—all from getting past “the introvert thing” and beginning to engage with people.
Karen Knode Trepte wrote guest posts for The Huffington Post, Workawesome, Time management master and more. Plus she interviewed Denise Duffield-Thomas!

Hey hey!
Congrats everyone!!
I took a look at Janna’s website… looks GREAT. I had to look up what Bahai is… interesting and super-cool. Love the specific niche and powerful images connecting the words on the site. BRAVO!!!
Love, Eva
Jenny Shih says
Thanks for being the first cheerleader, Eva! You’re so positive and awesome like that.
I love watching people take action and celebrate their successes as they go. It’s been a fun first month of 2016!
Merri says
Kudos to all! Let’s get this done!
Sue says
I took some action! 🙂
1.) I created a free opt-in for my book, lead page and everything! I gave away a chapter plus the preface and intro. If you’re interested in homeschooling your teens… here you go! 😉
2.) I had been postponing creating an email list. I knew if I started it, I’d have to keep it up. And “keeping it up” isn’t my strong suit! lol
But when I did my opt-in offer for my book, I suddenly had people sending me their contact info. (Funny how that works, right?)
So mid-January, I sent out my first monthly newsletter. And here we are on Feb 3rd and I have 330 subscribers! 🙂
3.) I completed everything on my ToDo list from my Fast Track session with Jenny!
YES!
Jenny Shih says
Yay for major action-taking, Sue!! Now you can keep the momentum going for the next 9 months in MIWO!
Candace says
This free training has completely changed the way I view my business and has given me support and feedback that I’ve been wanting for a long time.
Here’s the action I’ve taken so far:
1. Getting clear on my niche and who I want to serve through my business.
2. Streamlining my website so that it didn’t have so many menu choices!
3. Adding in a free opt-in offer.
4. Eliminating the group programs from my site to save that piece for a later time.
5. Designing a BSO and adding it to my website.
6. Putting myself out there through personal e-mails, social media, and sharing openly about my business.
Thank you, Jenny, for all the ways that you helped me to have the courage and know-how to move forward!
5.
Jenny Shih says
HOLY WOW that’s some serious action-taking, Candace! Way to go for it! Imagine what will happen if you keep this up… 🙂 Can’t wait to watch you go far!
Saiisha says
Hi Jenny,
Recently, after offering about 6 mini-sessions, I figured out that my potential clients were looking for something that I wasn’t offering before. So I created a new BSO and priced it low (thanks to your BSO video), and one of the mini-session candidates turned around and bought it even before I had put it up on my website.
It’s up now: http://www.nestintheforest.com/stuck-2-serene/ and if anyone has a better name for my BSO, I’ll take it 🙂
Thanks for the work you do Jenny, to support the community you created!
Jenny Shih says
Love this, Saiisha! You were so smart to learn from your followers and readers and clients and adjust… then take action! Starting small keeps you nimble and able to to figure out what works so you can keep going. Bravo!!
Saiisha says
Thanks Jenny! Having the MIWO templates handy made it easy to write copy for my BSO 🙂
Jenny Shih says
Fantastic!
April says
It’s wonderful to hear these moving forward success stories. Everyone’s websites look great! I’m a little behind in the total online process but am working on a revised website and beginning to design an opt-in offer so I can beef up my mailing list. I have a few more months to catch up to you all, but I’m in motion. Feels good!

Jenny Shih says
Step by step is how we get there, April. Way to keep momentum going and actions moving forward, no matter what the pace. And bravo for giving yourself a shout out!
April says
Thanks for all your generous offerings, Jenny. You are a real motivator!
Lori Puma Williams says
It is inspiring to see what everyone has accomplished.
I had a major shift. I hadn’t been doing the activities I need to do to get clients. Partly because I didn’t know the specifics of what to do and partly because I was scared to look like I didn’t know what I was doing.
The videos talked about how taking action is the best way to figure out what you’re doing. So I started sending 3-5 emails to friends and acquaintances each week telling them about my business, jumped into 4 new Facebook groups and started commenting, and sent out a direct pitches to someone who I thought could use my help.
And I bombed. I got one new prospect. For a free call!
But I did get a lot of information from all of the things that I did about what kinds of problems the people I want to help have and how I might be able to help them. Enough that I was able to come up with a whole new set of words for talking about what I did, create a completely new bite-sized offer yesterday, and write more compelling direct pitches.
I just posted the new BSO last night so no clients yet. When I see people in-person something has definitely shifted. They now get just as excited as I do when I tell them about my business which helps people grow their business by sharing what they already know.
Jenny Shih says
As I always say, “Clarity and confidence come from taking action.” Action doesn’t guarantee immediate results of exactly what we want, but it always shows us what we still have to learn and what our next steps are.
Keep taking action. Keep trying. Keep being willing to not get it right. Because eventually, if you do these things, it will work. And you’ll be so freaking glad you kept at it.
High five for action taking, Lori. Keep it up!!!
Lori Puma Williams says
Thanks Jenny. I will keep it up.
I have been telling all of my business buddies about how helpful you have been.
Jenny Shih says
Thank you! I’m hoping to help as many women as I can get their work out there and also support themselves and their families with their businesses. <3
Maya Henry says

Jessie says
This free training has been amazing!
As a result of this training…
I have honed my niche market more closely than I ever could have imagined, and have started connecting one-on-one with women who are experiencing a change in their 30s and 40s that brings them into closer alignment with who they want to be – in their careers, in the personal lives, and in their own sense of self.
In doing that, I learned exactly the words that my clients are using to describe their experiences, and I did a complete overhaul of my copy on my website.
I created a BSO for my coaching services that gets right to the heart of what my clients are experiencing, and how I can help them.
I have sent personal emails to all new subscribers to my newsletter.
I have three different opt-in set up, each of which targets a slightly different niche market.
I pitched a workshop idea to the organizers of my local International Women’s Day Conference, which will be attended by 300 people.
I. AM. ON. FIRE!!!
Thanks Jenny! You are single-handedly the most helpful and least “sales-y” person helping out all of us budding internet entrepreneurs.
Jenny Shih says
WOW – you are on fire. KEEP IT UP!!!
And thank you for the kind words. I aim to help people as much as I can, balancing service and paying the bills 🙂
All the best to you!
Karen Trepte says
Thank you so much Jenny! You give all of us a lot of great info.
Have fun in your next round of MIWO. They are lucky to have you.
Hugs,
Karen
