Hi Jenny!
I am 🙂 I start working 1:1 for a whole month tomorrow with one of my fave biz coaches. I am so excited to get my message out in the world and share the gift of direct sales — and how to create sustainable success biz with this simple biz model.
Jenny Shih says
Love it, Julia!! I’m so glad you’re reaching out for help to create that business you know you can have.

HEY Jenny! I created a system (with the help of my graphic designer) based on the ideas (like using 3 MITs, for example) in “The Power of Less”.
HOLY SMOKES, it’s working! It’s helping me to focus big time. This past week I decided to take my business sharings to the next level, and I’m moving forward to fill the gaps using the tools I already have on hand + only what makes the most sense for now.
My biggest challenge has not been needing a coach or a tool, but simply saying “NO!” to things not bringing me in the right direction. I’m doing that!!
🙂
Megan says
I can relate! It’s so easy to get distracted by all the things you feel like you should be doing! I love using 3 MITs to keep me focused on my top priority 🙂
Eva Rawposa says
YES Megan! YES! Me too! ha! Obviously! 🙂
Jenny Shih says
So smart, Eva! Sometimes you’re right, we simply need a new piece of information on how to do things differently. In your case, that information was in a book that said to say NO! Love that you’re doing that!
And I had to go google “MIT” to know what you were talking about. What a great concept and book. I’m going to have to check it out. Thank you for sharing that resource!
Eva Rawposa says
LOVE that from Brooke! Thanks Jenny!! Loved this in particular – for some reason it was very helpful to me: “I would like for you to think about boundaries as a way that we take care of and protect ourselves rather than something that we create for other people.”
Separately… I’m SO surprised you didn’t know about MITs! That book is right up your alley. It’s ALL about business and life not being so hard! If it’s OK… I’d like to share my system with you… I wasn’t even planning on sharing it all with the public, but it’s really hard not to share it. It’s SERIOUSLY transforming my life and business!!!
Megan says
Yay Jenny! I’m so glad you’re doing more Build Your Business Challenge videos! I have mapped out all the micro-steps for each of my big goals for this year, and I’m in the process of looking for a business coach to help me along the way 🙂
Jenny Shih says
I’m glad you’re glad, Megan! It’s fun to cram something actionable into 60 seconds or less! I love that you’ve mapped out your steps for this year — such a great start.
What are the gaps that you need to close or the areas where you need help? I’m happy to see if I know of anyone who can help with those things.
Megan Schopieray says
My biggest challenge right now is that I want to create and launch an ecourse but have no idea how to even get started! Do you have anyone you would recommend that specializes in ecourses?
Jenny Shih says
Happy to help, Megan. I didn’t know of anyone off the top of my head, so I went asking around in my network. Two people suggested this person:
Good luck!!
Megan Schopieray says
Awesome – thank you Jenny!
Kait says
Love this! One of my major focuses this year is on communication. Everything from social media to my writing skills to my public speaking. I’m taking it one step at a time and seeking out resources that will help me hone them. I definitely need to write down the microsteps and better map them out though!
Jenny Shih says
Love that focus, Kait. I love how you’re looking at it in all arenas of your business, too. So smart.
Yes, take the time to write down the microsteps and see all the things you want to do to make it happen. It will keep you focused and make sure you stay on track.
Becky says
Gives whole new meaning to “Mind the Gap”! I think this is where some of us get stuck – we see where we are, we see where we want to be….and we don’t know how to fill the gap. But if we just break it down into steps, smaller steps and then tiny steps, we *can* get there!
Thanks, Jenny!
Jenny Shih says
So true and so well put, Becky!! You’re right, we can get there when we have the steps (and it’s also a whole lot less scary!).
Keep rocking it, woman!! xo
Christy says
My biggest gap right now is software. I’m getting ready to launch a new web site (art tutorial) but the software I currently use is no longer supported. I want my web site to be able to house blogs with comments, PDF and video tutorials, and the sale of printables and extended tutorials. Oh, and my budget if “free if possible”. I have the domain and email addresses. I have 25 years experience as a graphic (print) artist and 35 years experience as a watercolor artist, neither of which pays well. 🙂
Jenny Shih says
Sounds like you know the gap you need to close! I don’t know of a free option, but an inexpensive wordpress theme and WishList Member (very affordable) are great options and the combination would help you do what you’re looking for. Best of luck!
Laura says
Great first step for me thank you. And looks like one of the gaps I have can be starting with learning about the 3 MIT. I also find the posts and your responses very insightful.
Jenny Shih says
3 MITs are “most important tasks” (I just learned this myself, though I have been implementing the idea without knowing the terminology for awhile).
So where is your gap, the one between you and your goal? Find that gap, then figure out how to fill it. Then, if you like the MIT idea, each day identify the three MITs that will get you closer to your goal
Make sense?
Kelly Edmonds says
Thanks so much for the mention my specialization in building e-courses, Jenny!
